29th Parliamentary-Intelligence Security Forum – Special Remarks

Congressman. Robert Pittenger welcomed participants to the Parliamentary Intelligence-Security Forum at the Senate of Spain in Madrid, expressing gratitude to the Senate President and Spanish hosts for their leadership and support. He also acknowledged Speaker Ryan and his team for organizing the forum and assembling approximately 35 expert presenters who would speak over the two-day gathering.

He emphasized the critical role of parliamentarians as policymakers responsible for drafting legislation and prioritizing government funding. He noted that, given the rapid evolution of transformational technologies and global security challenges, it is essential for lawmakers to have direct access to timely, strategic information. He stressed that the forum exists solely to support legislative leadership worldwide, with no commercial agenda, but with a shared commitment to safeguarding global freedom and security. He also expressed appreciation to Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez for his leadership in hosting the previous forum in Manila and for his continued partnership. Pittenger concluded by thanking the participants and formally yielding the floor for the next address.
