Dr. Dayaratna presented data showing that access to affordable and reliable energy is directly correlated with economic growth, higher life expectancy, reduced poverty, improved agricultural  output,  and  lower  mortality  from  air  and  water  pollution. He emphasized that nations with robust energy consumption enjoy greater prosperity and social well-being. Dayaratna argued that policies limiting energy development—especially restrictions rooted in climate alarmism—harm economic opportunity and hinder human flourishing.

Using international datasets, he illustrated that countries relying on energy imports from hostile nations face heightened security risks. He encouraged nations to pursue energy independence, leverage domestic resources, and collaborate with reliable allies.
