Cosmin Ghita is a graduate of Bates College in the United States, specializing in international political economy. He began his career in the US with Chevron (Washington) before contributing to the company’s operations in Romania. From 2015 to 2017, he was a partner at Amerocap, a New York-based private energy investment fund, where he supported transactions and capital-raising efforts in the energy and mineral resources sectors across Romania, Ukraine, and the UK. He subsequently served as an advisor to the Prime Minister of Romania on energy security and energy policy. Since September 2017, he has held the position of CEO at Nuclearelectrica.
Mr. Cosmin Ghita is the first Romanian elected to the Main Governing Board of the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO), contributing to the association’s objectives of strengthening nuclear safety and nuclear safety culture—efforts that impact nuclear power plants worldwide. Mr. Ghita is fluent in Romanian, English, Russian, and French.
