Eduard Heger was appointed prime minister of the Slovak Republic in April 2021.
Before entering public office, Mr. Heger held a number of roles in corporates and started his career in hospitality, managing restaurants in Bratislava. In the early 2000s, he served as a junior consultant for U.S. company Cubic, which specializes in transportation, defense and C4ISR (command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance). In this role, he worked alongside the Slovakian Ministry of Defense on the long-term plan for the development of the Slovakian Army. He then spent two years as a manager of the Spoločenstvo pri Dóme sv. Martina, a Christian Community Center in Bratislava. Between 2007 and 2016, he served as country manager for Old Nassau Imports, the manufacturer of Slovakia’s premium Double Cross Vodka, with responsibility for brand management, production support and exports.
