Victoria Beckman is the Leader for the Americas of the Digital Crimes Unit (DCU) at Microsoft. DCU is responsible for implementing strategies to disrupt cybercrime by dismantling criminal infrastructure through civil actions; collaborate with organisations and governments to strengthen cybersecurity and support victim remediation; design education campaigns and advance policies and legislation to deter and decrease cybercrime.
Ms Beckman spent several years as a public defender in Arizona first assigned to capital habeas appeals and later trying major felony cases. Prior to practicing law, she was an industrial engineer in the technology and automotive sectors and a competitive figure skater.
Ms Beckman is a Board Member, IAPP Diversity in Privacy, Board Member, United Cybersecurity Alliance Board of Directors, Board of Trustees Member, Community Refugee and Immigration Services and a Member, Ohio Access to Justice Foundation
