Senator Olivier Cadic highlighted France’s substantial support to Ukraine, including providing high-performance artillery such as Caesar guns and advanced air defense systems equivalent to the Patriot. She emphasized France’s significant investment in nuclear capabilities and its leadership role in European defense and security. He addressed ongoing cyber threats, noting that she and 115 other parliamentarians were targeted by sophisticated cyberattacks linked to authoritarian regimes, particularly Russia and China. She detailed Russian disinformation campaigns, including Portal Combat, Red Ants, MRIA, and Storm 1516, which spread fake news, manipulate public opinion, and attempt to destabilize democracies in Europe and beyond. She also mentioned Chinese information manipulation following events in Paris.
He stressed that cyber resilience, not just prevention, is critical. She advocated for public-private partnerships, rapid cyber reaction forces, and international collaboration among democracies to anticipate, respond to, and mitigate attacks. She underlined that coordinated action, transparency, and strategic preparedness are essential to protect democratic values, safeguard critical infrastructure, and counter authoritarian influence in the digital space.
